Future proof EVSE electrical work

Fri May 12, 2017 12:04 am

I'm buying a Bolt as first EV. LIkely going to buy Tesla and others in the next couple years. 3 car family, so eventually all 3 EVs.

Getting first EVSE installed and re-wiring the garage panel. I asked electrician to future proof it. And he's putting in 60 amp conductors. Is that enough?

More general question - anyone comment or point to an article that can educate me a bit on the future of EV and EVSE to charge EVs of the future...

And is it really that important to future proof? Can I just simply upgrade the electrical if it really comes to it down the road... I mean, if it's in a year or two, then yah, might as well do it now, but if it's 5-10 years from now, then I might as well just leave it as-is and upgrade it later as needed.
