RE:Tesla is now selling 60 (kWh) and 60D models starting at $66K

Plus faster supercharging - almost no time penalty for range charge when compared to the original S60

RE:Model 3 reveal - part 2 still to come

<t>Is this is revealing the production version then I guess it makes sense. But why do the reveal so far from customer deliveries?<br/> Especially if the 3nd part of the unveil will be the autonomous driving tech. By the time the Model 3 comes out the AutoPilot 2.0 will be improved/revised etc.<br/>...

RE:Hyundai's future plans for a 200 mile and 250 mile range electric vehicle

<r>Hyundai quoted the IONIQ EV at 150 miles for a long time, and the EPA rating is 110 miles.<br/> <br/> So..... that means a 200 mile battery electric vehicle is actually 142 miles, and a 250 mile electric vehicle is actually only 177 miles on the EPA scale, which is nothing exciting at all.<br/> <...

Hyundai's future plans for a 200 mile and 250 mile range electric vehicle

<t>Autoblog says that Hyundai is prepping a 200 mile range electric vehicle for 2018, and a 250 mile range electric vehicle for 2020. This is in addition to the IONIQ EV that will launch later this year with 110 miles of EPA rated range.<br/> <br/> Seems to me like they are a little behind the curve...

S-Class Plug-in getting wireless charging - industry first?

I just read on Auto Express that the next generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class PHEV will have wireless charging. “We already have a working prototype . . . battery capacity is predicted to double every five years, so the next S-Class plug-in will also have an increased range.” Jochen Strenkert, head of ...

Re: Model 3 Trunk vs Hatchback - are you happy with it?

I'd have no problem losing the glass roof for the benefit of a larger trunk opening - I'm pretty sure the glass roof is why they didn't go with a hatchback or larger trunk opening. When you give up the glass roof then you give up 1-2 inches of headroom, especially noticeable for the rear passengers...

Wow - Elon Musk shows how little land is needed to power USA with Solar

“We may not power the United States entirely on solar, but if we did, it would take a rather small fraction of the land area: Watch the SolarCity video on how much land would it take? Probably not what you think!” https://www.facebook.com/ElonReeveMusk/videos/619145724919824/ http://insideevs.com/w...

Re: Model 3 Trunk vs Hatchback - are you happy with it?

You could use the Frunk for smaller items like groceries - it's probably even easier than a hatchback :) When I need to get out of the city with a few large items, it's difficult even fitting things in my LEAF, and that's a mid-sized hatchback not a 'small'. A hatchback is necessary for me if I was ...

BMW i8 Roadster to launch in 2018

BMW has announced they will launch the i8 roadster in 2018. I can't wait to see one of these in person, and hopefully by 2018 I'll be in a position to purchase one! I almost pulled the trigger on an i8 last fall but we ended up selling and moving and that changed priorities for a while. Harald Kruge...
